Watched The Internship the other day. Liked it. Vince Vaughn gets a lot of stick, but characters like him (and I guess the stick he gets is that he’s the same character every time), are lacking in software circles. You want guys who bring those intangibles; leadership, charisma, and above all, glue.

But that wasn’t my takeaway from the movie. At one point, they are told that a bug was introduced into the system and they have to scour 2 million lines of code to find it. At Google? Who the heck approved this script? You mean to tell me that Google doesn’t use a VCS? They can’t roll back a couple of checkins to see where some automated test (of which Google has a ton) started failing? LULZ!
