Undergraduate Excellence in Software Testing Award

The Association for Software Testing (AST) announces a scholarship for Software Testing! The AST will recognize excellence in software testing with college scholarships, registration for CAST 2009, and/or free memberships in AST to outstanding undergraduates.

The Association for Software Testing will base its decision on evaluation of an application that contains, at a minimum:
  • A transcript of the student's educational record (university and/or college) with evidence of current enrollment or acceptance to a program beginning in January 2009;
  • At least two letters of reference;
  • An essay discussing the applicant's personal interest, educational experience and/or work experience related to software testing.
The ideal candidate:
  • Will have a grade point average of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale (though we will consider applicants with a GPA as low as 3.0 on a 4.0 scale).
  • Will demonstrate knowledge of the field of software testing and evidence of enthusiasm for continued studies or work in the field. Samples of work products created by the applicant, such as course assignments, are welcome.
Awards:
  • The most outstanding candidate will receive a $2000 scholarship to their desired college or university. In addition,
  • The 1st and 2nd place candidates will receive a full-paid registration to CAST 2009.
  • All outstanding candidates, including 1st and 2nd place as well as an unlimited number of runner-ups, will receive a free student membership to the AST.
