CAST 2006

The 2006 annual Conference of the Association for Software Testing
June 5-7, 2006, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

Theme: Influencing the Practice

Conference Mission

The primary mission of CAST 2006 is to help build an active community of software testing scholars, practitioners, and learners, and influence the software-testing practice through discussions among members of this community.

Conference Scope

CAST 2006 will accept papers that offer insight and understanding in the area of software testing, whether they are theoretical or practical. The topics of the papers should be pursuant to the theme "Influencing the Practice" - how theory, tools, and experience, for example, influence software testing and development practices. Both academic research papers and industrial experience reports are welcome.

CAST 2006 will be a venue and forum for influential discussions that will advance the practice of software testing through practical and theoretical near-term breakthroughs. This conference is intended to serve both practitioners in industry and scholars as well as students in academia in the field of software testing. The program committee will strive to establish a balanced program with equal participation from industry and academia.

The distinguishing feature of this conference is that all ideas accepted by the Program Committee are open to challenge, debate, and discussion. The conference will allow a high level of interaction among presenters and attendees, and flexibility will be built into the schedule so that the energy for a particular topic can modify the course of conference events.

The conference is for those who want to discuss and debate testing topics. Trained moderators will ensure that discussion sessions are controlled and productive. Discussion sessions will have a recorder, and transcripts or summaries of the discussions will be made available to participants after the conference.

Papers on the following topics are highly suitable for submission:

  • Empirical study
    • Empirical research on testing techniques and tools
